What are the standard overdraft practices that may apply to my account?

We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:

  • Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number.
  • Automatic bill payments.

We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to (see below).

  • ATM transactions.
  • Everyday debit card transactions.

We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means that we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction.

If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.

What fees will be charged if Century Bank pays my overdrafts?

Under our standard overdraft practices:

  • We will charge you a fee of up to $29.95 each time we pay an overdraft.
  • Also, if your account is overdrawn for 5 or more consecutive business days, we will charge you an additional $.95 per day.

There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.

What if I want Century Bank to authorize and pay overdrafts on my ATM and everday debit card transactions?

If you want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions,

  • Call (502) 859-5111 or (877) 444-2259.
  • Complete and return the Opt In Form for Overdraft Privileges (PDF) to any of our offices or mail to:

  • Submit a Secure Email through Internet Banking by selecting the SECURE EMAIL tab
    (this option is only available to online banking customers).
  • Stop by and simply let us know at either of our two convenient Lawrenceburg locations at 201 W. Woodford Street and Kroger Super Center.

Why should I complete the form to "Opt In" for overdraft privileges?

Opt In to avoid worry and embarrassment. If you don't opt in, your electronic transaction will likely be denied when you lack funds yet try to withdraw money or make a purchase. Opt in... It is easy! Once you?ve opted in, you will receive confirmation by mail of your opt in choice.

What if I'm never overdrawn?

That's great! But keep in mind, even if your account normally stays at a positive balance there are always those unexpected instances where an overdraft may occur. We realize that life doesn't always go according to plan. So Opt-In today and avoid the worry.
